This flame recently appeared in the guestbook of my Kenshin and Kaoru site. I would like to point out that although I am rather snippy about Tomoe on "Raccoon Girl!" I was very nice and tolerant of her in Homecoming, with the possible exception of one joke in which I referred to her as an evil android. And it WAS a joke, because obviously I know that she is neither evil nor an android. And this is how they repay me! See what I get for trying to mend fences with these people? This rebuttal (if you can honestly rebut an argument as bizarre as this) was intended for Homecoming, but then I figured I might as well add it to the defense section here. So here we go...

Whee. My first flame. Considering the militant attitude of most Tomoe fans and the burning hatred for Kaoru they all seem to share, I'm surprised it hasn't happened before now. I particularly like the way she (or he? no clue) accuses me of not reading the manga, then goes on to make statements about Kaoru that are contradicted by the manga. I also like the part where s/he resorts to cursing, but then self-censors... I needed a chuckle today. Note that this contains spoilers. Obviously, since I don't know this person, I don't know... but it sounds like s/he watched the OVA, the first few episodes of the TV series, and then acquired only the manga volumes that feature Tomoe. I also begin to suspect that he or she never even read any of the page's contents, since at no point within this page do I refer to hating Tomoe. I don't LIKE her, but I don't believe I said that I hated her on this page, nor did I give any reasons for hating her. Nor do I dwell on Kaoru's kindness - she IS a kind person, in my opinion, but if all I cared about was kindness I'd be a Belldandy fan. I like Kaoru because of her personality and spirit, not her niceness. So, apparently, I'm the recipient of generalized spite. Lucky me. Couldn't you have vented to a mailing list or something, Anonymous Flamer?

(What are you talking about? Are you on monkey crack? Have YOU seen the manga? She's prepared to take a bullet for him at the close of the Jinchuu Arc. I have no idea what you mean about setting her up with anyone else on the planet... Kenshin is her only viable love interest within the series. And she never calls him Ken-san. That annoying habit belongs to Megumi.) Besides (big one here) People who hate Tomoe so much because she married Kenshin are idiots. (I never even said I hated her, let alone why, and while I do dislike her that is NOT the reason. I don't think you even read my page.) Kenshin would have died had not Tomoe saved him... (When did THIS happen? All she ever did to help him was housework. He WON the fight in which she died, even with her obstructing his attack.) and then where would Kaoru be? No where.
